Thank you for your sweet words, friends ! I have spent a great night.
Do you remember this sentence, in my last post :
« No, because, I show off about this night, but, after 11pm, I'm scared to be slouch in a sofa, with some dribble running down from my open mouth ...» ?
Don’t worry … It didn’t happen.
The sound was so high, I almost have lost my two ears !
Strangely, I haven’t lost my feet... Even so, there were so many people dancing ON them …
In French, we’ve got a sentence which says “A chaque âge, ses plaisirs” :
Each age has got its own pleasures.
And I tell you, friends … 40 years old, is not the night club's age anymore !
Believe me.
But, with my girlfriends, I have laugh and shout and sing so much, that today, I’ve got the Barry White’s voice …
So sensual …
Really, we had such a wonderful and funny night.
Just to prepare myself to the second night who is coming soon !
Saturday 24th, I'll do it again ! With family and close friends.
But this time, we’ll be in a restaurant. There will be music but we will be just between ourselves.
On Sunday, while I went to bed at 3 o’clock in the morning, I woke up at 6.30.
… A zombie. A real true zombie.
Most of all, as I just didn’t have the strength to take off my make up the night before, please, don’t make the mistake to think I’m exaggerating when I say, “a zombie”.
… This point too is a terrible life's injustice !
When you’re 20 years old, you just don’t need to sleep !
You wake up 2 hours after party time, fresh as a rose !
At 40 years old, you don’t look like a rose anymore.
You look like their prickles ...
When I’m in a zombie mood, I feel like grumpy. I’m Grumpy, in Zombiland.
You’re right… Such a pleasure for my family …
So to forget my bad mood and terrific face, I have baked those SO YUMMY chocolates muffins.
You'll need :
- 3 eggs
- 100 grammes of unsalted butter
- 60 grammes of sugar
- 50 grammes of regular flour
- 200 grammes of dark chocolate
- 1 tablespoon of half and half cream
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla liquid
- 100 grammes of chocolate chips.
Your oven must be preheated at 180°C (350°F / Th 6).
Step 1 :
Whisk together eggs and sugar. But not too much.
Step 2 :
Pour your flour everywhere, and most of all, ON your whisk and stir together.
Step 3 :
Let melt butter and chocolate together. If you use microwave, as I do, just do it 30 seconds by 30 seconds. between each 30 seconds, stir gently.
Do it 3 times. Your chocolate won't have the famous awful burned taste...
Step 4 :
Add the cream.
... And the vanilla. MOST OF ALL ... Don't take a clean spoon. Be dirty.
Stir together. It looks like a ribbon.
Step 5 :
Finally, pour the chocolate chips.
In the oven for 15 minutes !
After that .. Just enjoy and die !! ...
Who sais diamonds were women's best friends ??...
Don't care about diamonds.
But give some of those muffins ...
Bon appétit !!

Axelle- How is it you always know what I need over here in Oregon? I was looking through my recipes and couldn't really find what I wanted and so I thought, "This is getting no where. I wonder what Axelle is doing?" These chocolate muffins are going to be just perfect! Should have checked with you first because I've wasted some time searching.
ReplyDeleteGlad you made it back from the disco in one piece. I am 4yrs older than you are so if you have any questions about your new decade feel free to ask. However, you did tell us nightclubs don't fit the French 40's but you didn't tell us what plaisirs go with your new age. Jamie
Dear Jamie,
DeleteI'm really happy to know I read in your mind ;)
And I just hope you'll love those cute cakes.
If you want to bake them, for example, for a diner with friends, you can serve them with a banana cream : Blend 2 bananas with 125 grammes of nature yogurt (I use Fjord, by danone) and one teaspoon of white sugar. Serve it in a tiny jar.
I promise, this is Heaven !
For your question on "what are the good points to be 40 ?"... I THOUGHT ABOUT IT ALL DAY !! :D
... And I still don't know !
Please, give me some answer :D
Hi Axelle, glad that you had a blasting great time with your friends, singing and all! Another night out with your family? Swell, birthdays are great isn't it? We do not need to cook and can be pampered by loved ones! And we should be! Hahaha! Have fun with your family! Your muffins looks good!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Joyce ;)
DeleteIn reality, the last birthday I have celebrated was for my 20 years old.
I suppose I celebrate birthday only 20 years by 20 years ! The next will be good enough. But for my 80 years old, I'm just scared to not even remember to celebrate it !!
Thank you once again for your words ;)
Oh these look good! But I must tell you, every time I look at your blog I gain 3 kilos ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday tomorrow, I say it in advance because of the time difference, it's almost tomorrow in France already, and I will be sleeping when you wake up! I'm glad you're having a great time with friends and family :)
I know ! this one of my biggest question,re garding persons who presents cook show, for example, Giada da Laurentiis ... She's so thin, that's unfair !! Lol !
DeleteThank you very much, Dr CaSo ! :)
